Our society is increasingly filled with “social justice warriors”* – that is, people more concerned with reforming the world than with reforming themselves.
To buck this tide, let us seek to be, if we can use this term, “personal justice warriors”** – those who seek to reform the world by reforming themselves.
Jesus used the proverb, “Physician, heal thyself!” It’s good advice.
*A “social justice warrior” is like someone who is constantly talking about the benefits of cleanliness but who smells like he hasn’t had a bath in a week.
**Let’s be sure we’re taking a bath every day; in that way, we can experience and demonstrate the value of cleanliness.
